The Samuel A. Kirk Special Education Teacher of the Year Award

The nominee:

1. Must be a current member of the Arizona Council for Exceptional Children.
2. Must not be a current officer or member of the awards committee.
3. Must have contributed significantly to the education of exceptional individuals through direct student contact in instruction or a training process.
4. Must have Arizona Teacher certification or be a related services specialist as recognized by the Arizona Department of Education.
5. Must submit vitae at a later date to the International CEC as part of the nomination process for the "Clarissa Hug Teacher of the Year" Award.

Any person can nominate someone for this award. Please submit:

1. The nominee's name, CEC membership number, address, and phone number.
2. The nominee's professional position and employer's contact information - name, address, & phone number.
3. Letters of recommendation, which describe the nominee's professional activities.

Award recipients receive a $100 honorarium, free registration for the state conference, and a plaque of acknowledgement.
